Portugal Diary – First Day in Lisbon
Hi my loves, so here’s the first part of my Portugal diary, I hope you enjoy it 😀
After a 2 hour flight from Zurich to Madrid, we went straight away to Lisbon with a rental car. In the late afternoon we arrived in the capital city of Portugal. We were pretty exhausted, but very excited for our stay in Lisbon. The appartment we rented was adorable and we were welcomed with the typical portugese pasteis de nata, a delicous tart pastry filled with cream, egg yolk and vanilla. It is undoubtedly the most popular dessert in Portugal, and it tastes like heaven. The appartment itself is so beautiful, it’s a mix of real vintage pieces from the 1940ies and modern furniture, and I was so excited about the walk in warderobe. Later in the evening we went out to have some dinner. In Portugal and Spain dinner time is between 8:00 -10:00 pm, which is very late for swiss people, because we often have dinner at about 6:00 pm. We went to the „Clube do Peixe“ located at Avenido 5 de Outubro, 180 A, which is a true recommendation. The fish was so fresh and it tasted so good, also the restaurant itself was very lovely. Stuffed and happy we went back to our appartment to get some rest 😀
Travel snaps <3 I just love the little snacks you get during short flights.

This was the best Fishsoup I’ve ever tried
Saturday: Our first real Day in Lisbon, we had some breakfast at a lovely café called Choupana Caffe. Afterwards we bought tickets for the hop on hop off sightseeing tour bus. It was really efficient because we could just hop on and hop off at every sight we wanted to see. At first we went to the famous plaza “Praça de Comérico” which was really beautiful. Then we went on, strolled around the old city center and just explored the area. I loved the old part of the city, everything looks so charming and the atmosphere there is amazing.

This is the most delicious pastry ever. It’s a soft brioche bread and the topping is made of grated coconut, sugar and eggs.

I’m in love with those ceramic plates called “Azulejos” which are very typical in Portugal. They look so pretty and there are lots of different patterns and designs.
